Please note that I HAVE NOT RETURNED TO FANFICTION.NET.

This author who claims to be me (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2443486/1/) is a fake.

I no longer archive my works at FFnet and I plan never to do so. Honestly, now, does that author sound REMOTELY like me? If she has any decency, she'll stop impersonating me because it's really quite a sad way to garner reviews.

If you receive this post over a zillion times, my apologies xD LJ has been eating my posts.

In other news, I did promise to send TBWLL to whoever who wants it, but instead I have created a yahoo!group and will be posting the addy shortly :D Good news is, I got most of TBWLL and CFTG with me. I lost Hogwarts Got Married, unfortunately :(

Thanks, everyone!

Alright. I'm officially the worst author in the world :( I've been really, really busy lately. I'm currently staffing at The Fanlistings and it's taken quite a bit of my time; in addition to that, I'm taking school extremely seriously and I'm struggling with writing in general, not just fanfiction. I've been creatively drained for a few months now, and I'm really, really terrified that it's going to last for quite some time. I'm sorry to all my reviewers and readers, and I can't promise to return to the L/J stories any time soon. But when the time comes, I will return without question.

That said, thanks to everyone who nominated me for any awards or archiving. I've received emails informing me about my fanfiction getting several noms and I'm really honoured. I don't deserve this *hugs everyone*

I'll be back when I can. Thanks for all the support, everyone! I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

The Boy Who Loved Lily Chapter 32: Graduation

Surprisingly, I quite enjoyed writing this chapter. And do consider me still on hiatus, because I'm going to have a very busy term ahead ^^ I'm so glad I could pull this one out of the hat. I'm currently having my one week term break, which may be the reason...

Thank you, Aiko! )

This is NOT directed to anyone, but everyone in general =)

I've been a bit disgruntled lately, and I did quite a bit of thinking. Just a minute ago I've come to this conclusion: I can't please everyone. I'm grateful for every review I get, but it amazes me sometimes when some of you guys undermine the amount of time I put into writing fanfiction. Inevitably, some tend to think writing is really easy and that I can twist and turn the plot as and when I like it.

Well, I can't.

Once I had a review telling me my story isn't based enough on Meteor Garden. Today I got another review telling me my story has 'borrowed' way too much from Meteor Garden.

Another time I have people requesting for more Remus-related plotlines. When I give in, I get flamed for not writing enough L/J.

This doesn't anger me - it's more frustrating than anything else. Of course, I do appreciate every single reviewer, whether or not their review was flamish or not, but it was until very recently that I realized the reason TBWLL is on the verge of being ripped to shreds is because I'm all over the place - trying to please everybody. And that isn't possible. No matter how I write it, someone's going to be pissed off at me.

And I know you'll agree with me that I can only carry out the story in one way that will ensure it gets finished in one piece - that's my way. I value your opinions and I will continue to incorporate suggestions and requests, but at this point I have decided I'm going to write TBWLL the exact same way I've always done two years ago. Whether or not you agree (and you are free to do so), the plot and writing style will be of my own freedom to choose.

I have as many people who dislike the story as there are who like it, and I will write for the people who like it. If you don't like it, or you're disappointed in it - don't read. It's just that simple. It's not my fault that I failed your expectations. It's more important to me right now to make TBWLL the story I've set out to finish so long ago. I love this story, no matter what anyone thinks - and at the end of the day, if I don't get any reviews, it won't matter because I'm happy with the way I wrote it.

I'm posting this because I feel everyone needs to know what has been in my head the past few days. TBWLL has gotten almost too big for it's own good, and I love all of you for supporting the story. I want to enjoy writing fanfiction like before, instead of letting it give me restless days and sleepless nights. You know what I mean?

I will never write TBWLL if I don't feel like writing it. Every chapter in the story is written whole-heartedly and honestly. And while you can expect me to be cliche-free most of the time, you can't expect it all the time. I'm glad everyone has high expectations of me, but like I said before: I'm not a professional. I'm only a fanfiction writer =) An amateur, in other words. Do cut me some slack =)

That said, thanks so much, and take care. As forementioned, I'm on a hiatus as I sort out my very busy life. When that's done, I'll take a few walks, watch a few sunsets, and bring a new chapter to you.

Jommoov - I left you a comment in the previous post ^^

reviews - c.31 [31 Aug 2004|07:14am]
JamesGurl19 - Ok did you steal that "sleep" scene from Lord of the Rings? I really liked this chapter (i agree with you...one of my favorites!) and can't wait to read the next one!

No, I didn't XD~ Was there a scene like that from LOTR?? I watched the series, but I can't remember. My most vivid impression was "I am no man" from Eowyn 0.o

Lorwyn Daystar - Wait. What?? It's been so long, I've forgotten what was wrong with Mei. Why did she want to go back to muggle school? And rather randomly, at that. She went to Hogwarts for 7 years and quit right before it was over?

I've never mentioned what was wrong with Mei, and neither did she, so no, don't be lost =) Considering Mei is a muggle, she definitely has a different prioritizing system. Education was never the most important thing to her.

Harriet - I am happy that you never copied anyone's plot. To my suprise I have read numerous fanfictions who have deliberatly copied yours. Yours is original and maybe one of the most best Lily/James fics in this archive. But then again, your have another competitor who is also a person who writes with such excellency and I know you know her. Its Childofscorpio.

I've given up on copiers long ago, so I don't let that bother me. Thank you for your compliments! I was grinning when I read about 'competitors' - ChildofScorpio is one of my favourite authors as well, and I'm sure she appreciates your comment! Like you, I'm a fan of hers XD~

Jommoov --I've always enjoyed your stories, and your writing style is absolutely brilliant.

But this story is becoming more boring every chapter. It seems like there is no plotline, no action. Maybe it's just me, but this story is spiraling off into the old, over-used storyline. The story is also very predictable and the characters - especially Netty and James - are doing exactly the same things as before. The fact that Netty has a crush on Remus makes this story sound like the same thing in the very beginning.

Your story sounds like it's written by an author who doesn't know what to do. The creativeness, the livelyness of the old chapters is almost completely gone. It seems like you have either developed a case of writer's block, or else you're only writing TBWLL half-heartedly. Someone without the sense of direction.

It also pains me to see everything falling in places which I thought this story wouldn't go. The angry Lily and the angry but loving James is gone, replaced by 2 unknown people who hardly every communicate. Sirius has completely lost his entire character and has become the most pathetic lovesick fool. And Mei, although slightly realistic, is the exact same personality as about 1/2 the romance stories in the world.

I'm sorry I had to criticize you like this, because I don't anyone else. I think you won't even read this, because I don't like reading criticism either. It's just that this story was so beautiful, so wonderful, so great back before. Now its been reduced and is hardly even interesting. In addition, I get so sick with the story "Lily's friends get together with James' friends." I mean, what kind of realistic fiction happens like that? I know this isn't my story, but this is a story that I thought would be wonderful to the end. If you ended it at around 22-25, it would have been. Now it's meanignless, useless words. If you don't want to write, don't write. Better to leave your story unfinished but perfect in every aspect than to have what you have right now.

Again, I apologize for criticizing you, and I certainly can't even write what you have right now. But it is a huge disappointment to see your story come to this. If I were you, I would begin to put some effort and completely rewrite every chapter after, say, 26. Add a direction to the story. Your story is like music. THe music needs somewhere to go, somewhere to end, not just random notes.

I used to love seeing you update, but now I hardly care. I wanted great fics, and yours was actually the best, other than Emmyjeans. But hers, even though it takes around 6 months to update, has become better. Quality over quantity.

Good luck! You should update some of your other unfinished fics. It would take your mind off TWBLL, and it would refresh your writing skills as you wrote something new.

That's just my $0.02. :) Do whatever you want.

You're right. I'm bored to death. I need new blood, or take a walk, or go on a holiday. Un fortunately I simply don't have the time =/ In actual fact I do have a direction, even if it seems unlikely at this point. I'll attempt to reply to your review case by case -

Lily and James hardly communicate. The storyline is not focusing on them now, but it will come back. Writing a story, like Arabelle and Zsenya once said, is easy at first, regular by the second quarter, and struggling by the third. This is currently the case for me. I'm not going to insert L/J fluff for the sake of it.

Add a direction to the story. Your story is like music. THe music needs somewhere to go, somewhere to end, not just random notes. That's not really fair =/ I know exactly how it's going to end, but if you see the chapter like that I may have to relook them. But thank you for saying this, because writers tend to forget it.

I get so sick with the story "Lily's friends get together with James' friends." I mean, what kind of realistic fiction happens like that? But I never said Lily's friends would end up with James. It would be unrealistic for Netty not to have a crush on Remus. She's noticed him for quite awhile. That said, I never mentioned anyone getting with anyone - Remus and Sirius are, to this day, single.

Now it's meanignless, useless words. If you don't want to write, don't write. Better to leave your story unfinished but perfect in every aspect than to have what you have right now. I was half-tempted to leave it unfinished, but that wouldn't be fair. I don't know what to say to your assuming that I don't want to write... I do, but as you've mentioned, I need a vacation. I'm exhausted.

Thank you for your criticism! I'll do better =) It's nice to think I'm only human, and I'm far from perfect. And at the end of the day... I'm just a fanfiction writer. No more.

----

Several notes:

- Lily and James action will be coming up. I assumed that one can't have her relationship bombastic all the time, she'll go crazy. But yes, things are going to happen. In a good or bad way, well, hmm...

- Read c.31 carefully - it holds a key to several future chapters. I even put in a huge clue or two o.0

- The issue of Matilda, yes. Will be covered.

---

After reading my reviews I discovered I need a break. If I don't update for several months, you know why =P Thanks, everyone.

I'm having some problems with formatting and uploading to FFnet. I think the website is being silly by liminating double spacing, which effectively means I have to find some other way to indicate time intervals. It's really stupid and a hindrance to my updating, so do bear with me.

Oh C.31, it's actually supposed to be posted a few nights back (then I encounter the problem. Refer to top paragraph). But since I'm having this setback I'll be working on making C.31 a little longer; it is currently the shortest chapter written for TBWLL, which isn't a good thing. So yes, I'll work on it.

Thanks for the reviews, everyone!

Questions. [08 Aug 2004|02:25pm]
[ mood | contemplative ]

I think some of you may be so used to things happening in TBWLL that normalcy in the story comes across a bit alien XD~ I'm not kidding, I get these vibes in the reviews. I think Chapter 30 is one of the most 'normal' chapters - less drama, just teen fun, you know what I mean? Of course, I don't intend to keep it that way *erhem*, but I'm just, y'know, making an observation...

The question I get the most now is where is TBWLL ending? Good question. Well, it's quite simple, actually - before they get married. Yes, I will not go into details of their deaths - no thank you. Will it be a happy ending? Of course.

As for the sequel (there most probably will be one), that's up in the air right now. I have a haphazard idea for what's going in there, and it may cover Harry's birth - but no deaths. Well, alright, maybe deaths, but Lily and James will not die anytime soon where I'm concerned. Does that make you feel better? =)

Second most asked question: where the hell is Remember Paris? I don't know, truthfully speaking. I've done a zillion drafts on it and then my computer crashed, and that's that. I know we have a lot of Remus fans, so I hope to write it soon.

And another concerning Remus: Is anything coming for Remus? Maybe, maybe not. If you have suggestions, do feel free to comment ^_^ I have my own shrewd ideas for Remus, but that's really all I can say. Now, what of Netty Flouris? She has her own time in TBWLL, of course. She will not magically disappear, mind you.

That's all I have to say for now. I'm currently focusing on C.31 - it's about two pages now - so off I go. Take care, and thanks for the reviews so far!

Try being in a family of six where you have to share the computer. I can't write a proper chapter at this point of time, but it will come. Just a matter of when, really.

I'm working on a part of the story, though it has no chapter allocated to it. Everything is just coming out in short bursts in no particular order, so I'm just letting it be for the moment.

If you're wondering what is my remedy for writer's block, download 'Pu Tong Peng You' by David Tao. He's currently helping me overcome my brain coma.

That said, please be patient. I'm so sorry for the delay =/

I've done only 5 pages of Chapter 30 (The Boy Who Loved Lily), which is considered really pathetic. I'm currently stuck and my solution for it is to sleep on it. Which I will do.

That said, a sentence from chapter 30:

"For most part, I suppose I am." He smiled mischievously at her. "What do you care?"

Cookies to whoever can guess who the speaker is, who it's directed to and what they're talking about. But I'm hoping you can't XD~ I'll try to finish this chapter by next week!

I've been getting reviews saying since it's the summer I can find time to write more, but I'm not American ^_^

I'm an Asian living in Asia, therefore the seasons really don't apply to me. With that said my new school term starts in the first week of next month - July. If you're expecting even more updates now, I'm afraid it's really quite the opposite. I hope you bear with me. *sheepish*

Chapter 30 is not coming along fine at all, and I'm very sorry if delays occur ^_^ And you guys - the reviews! Over 4000 - that's just mad, honestly. I was in shock for a few days o.0 Thank you SO much to all who's reviewed so far!

I hope everyone enjoyed Prisoner Of Azkaban as much as I did! Didja sense the Harry/Hermione vibes? Too bad I sensed more Ron/Hermione.

(Yes, I ship R/Hr.)

Chapter 29 is completed. I wrote like a mad woman today XD~ Of course, right now it's going through intensive re-writing and editing because I've run out of adjectives. That said, expect an update by the 11th.

...Though I have no idea who would care for an TBWLL update when PoA is in the cinemas. Seriously. For a few days straight I hardly cared about TBWLL.

Happy PoA, everyone!

I'm having a few reviewer/authors who have written their own Meteor-Garden based story and I'd like to say 'gambatte', and do so if you please. But I would also like to request you base your fanfiction on Meteor Garden or Hana Yori Dango, and not on my story The Boy Who Loved Lily. You are definitely free to use those sources as your references; but please don't base your entire story on mine. As much as my story is based on MG as well, there are many elements that I took careful planning for and it's really tiring if you just... take them for your own story @_@ It's disheartening and painful. You should see the amount of notes I have for TBWLL--if you think writing TBWLL is easy just because it's MG-based, well, it really isn't. It's akin to torture at times...

So to requests from authors who ask to base their story on mine--no, please don't. It's not easy to write TBWLL and I don't wish for anyone to just duplicate the entire thing as their own ;_; Unless you're a translator, please don't take my plots/sub-plots/characters.

And a ton of people has been reviewing with "Trelawney was hired after Lily and James came..." I've said it before so I'll say it again: TBWLL was written PRE-OOTP, which effectively means I may not be in line with canon. I'm really not going to rewrite the whole thing just for Professor Trelawney, are you kidding? ;___;

Thanks for the reviews so far, everyone! =)

i love it, but i wish lily would just wake up and realise the guy really does like her and start liking him, there's not that much time left of 7th year. i also never really saw James with such a temper, i no Harry has one in OotP but it's not that bad.

...Never said the fic would end at graduation, love =)

ComplexSimplicity
ONE QUESTION THOUGH: "A/N: Here is Chapter 27. Things are starting to happen in this chapter – things that will take us to the end of TBWLL. Hope you like it."
YOU SAY THAT THINGS WILL TAKE US TO THE END OF TBWLL-NOW DOES THIS MEAN THAT THE STORY WILL BE OVER SOON!??!?!?!?! AS IN LIKE CHAPTER 28 LAST CHAPTER EVER SOON!?!??!?!?! PLEASE GOD NO! YOU MUST CLARIFY THIS! PLEASE DON'T TELL ME IT'S ENDING!

XD~ No, it won't be ending so soon!

x-woman1
whoa things are really getting complicated now! the thing at the beginning with the biscuits made me laugh out loud, james was so adorable. but other than that and the cute mei and sirius part (will you explain what happened to mei)

There are a lot of things about Mei Hsu that hasn't been resolved. I've got a lot of catching up to do the next few chapters =)

rusted
This was a good chapter. Finally a bit of real melodrama and angst and whatnot. But...I don't want to criticize or anything..this is just a point. Somehow this chapter didn't seem up to your usual standards. I can't point out EXACTLY what it is...but it doesn't have your feel to it. Maybe you're tired, or mentally exhausted or something, what do I know.:P I like this turn to the story though. You're still doing an excellent job!:)

No, I agree with you ^_^ This chapter is slightly off, I admit. I'm mentally fried, and I'll be the first to say now that Chapter 28 is currently a nightmare. But I'll get over that and deliver as fast as I can, the best I can =)
